Thank you, Blayney, your writing and sharing always opens my heart....last night I saw how, amidst the rubble, many in Gaza are also watching the World Cup....and engaged and cheering....clinging to life.....we are one.
I'm reminded of the young people I see on the beach here in SoCal, young men and women, effortlessly dribbling and passing a soccer ball through the air with feet, ankles, knees, thighs - everything but arms and hands - to and fro, back and forth, round and and round. The ball almost never hits the ground. What the hell game is THIS!! I wonder. Nothing I grew ever playing. But then, I grew up in small town New England. Soccer was then a game played by "foreigners". In my 70s now, it's wonderful to see it's an American game, one the world graciously shares with us. And - better soccer as a subject than our so called president's speech Thursday night. Talk about dribble.... ah, well... onward.
